Aviation Museum

The New Hampshire Aviation Museum welcomes everyone with an interest in learning more about New Hampshire's exciting aviation history. The Aviation Museum is New Hampshire's only working museum devoted to aviation history in the Granite State.

What Will I See?

Museum exhibits cover persons, places, events and artifacts related to the aviation history of New Hampshire. The information presented about the pioneering men and women who have represented New Hampshire in the air will take you back in time and might even change the way you think about New Hampshire, especially the contributions our State has made to the aviation history of America and the world.

There are no full size aircraft on exhibit at this time.

Museum Programs

The Museum presents live programs covering aeronautical history and aviation related science. Click here to view a calendar of the events currently planned.

Outreach Program

 The Museum offers an Outreach program, open to all ages, children through adult. Read more about School Outreach here.

Facilities and Special Events

The museum can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 50 people for tours and programs. Dining facilities are not generally available for group visits, although catering may be arranged with prior planning. McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center Reciprocal Membership in February

Francis Gary Powers, the U-2 Spy plane, and the Cold War

On February 8, 2017 at 7 PM, the Aviation Museum of NH will host a presentation and book signing by Gary Powers, Jr.  Mr. Powers will discuss the truth behind the U-2 incident in which his father, Francis Gary Powers, survived the shoot-down of his reconnaissance plane and his capture on May 1st, 1960.  Mr. Power’s presentation will include an overview of the Cold War and book signing of the latest edition of his father’s classic 1970 memoir about the notorious U-2 incident. The Legend of Pancho Barnes and The Happy Bottom Riding Club

February 24, 2017, 7 PM, At the Museum

This is a video documentary profile of one of the most colorful and accomplished female pilots of the early 20th Century. Florence ''Pancho'' Barnes became the first female stunt pilot in Hollywood in 1929 and shattered Amelia Earhart's air speed record in 1930. In the 1940's and 50's, Pancho entertained the best test pilots in the world - men with the right stuff - at her ''Happy Bottom Riding Club'' guest ranch near Edwards Air Force Base.
