The Aviation Museum of New Hampshire will host its next monthly Second Saturday@Museum on Saturday Mar 10th at 11 AM. The speaker will be Lt. Col. David Hanson who is the Commander of the 23rd Space Operations Squadron, 50th Space Wing, Air Force Space Command, New Boston Air Force Station, N.H. He will be speaking on the history of the New Boston, NH Air Force Station and the current mission of the 23d Space Operations Squadron.As Commander, Lt. Col. Hanson is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and oversight of three of eight world-wide Air Force satellite command and control stations, one launch checkout facility, and two GPS ground antennas and monitor stations. These facilities directly support US Strategic Command by providing satellite command and controlling capabilities to Department of Defense (DOD), national, and civil satellite control centers operating over 140 intelligence, weather, navigation, warning, and communications satellites.
The “Second Saturday@Museum” programs are included as part of your admission fee (members are free) and are held in the Vincent Devino Classroom from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
