Aviation Museum of New Hampshire Receives Lincoln Financial Foundation Grant

The Aviation Museum of New Hampshire has received a $10,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation in support of expanding the museum's high school aviation education program. 

jizzoHeld at the Museum, the program is offered for-credit to juniors and seniors from Londonderry, Manchester, and Exeter high schools. Expansion of the program will enable the Museum to serve additional students and school districts.

Offered at no cost to students and school districts, the course runs twice per week, during the normal school year. The curriculum utilizes an inquiry based educational model to explore the wide range of technologies and careers within the aviation industry.


The Aviation Museum of NH staff and Board of Directors are grateful for support of their education programs. Board of Directors President Robert Hough stated, "We deeply appreciate Lincoln Financial Foundation's support. Their support will enable us to strengthen and expand our aviation education program. Aviation is very exciting way to bring STEM into the classroom."


Lincoln Financial Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Lincoln Financial Group, believes in empowering people to live greater lives, which advances culture and empowers greater positive change. Its grant is part of Lincoln Financial's annual $10 million investment in its local communities' youth education, economic and workforce development, human well-being and arts programs.

The mission of the Aviation Museum of NH is: To preserve New Hampshire aviation history through dynamic and hands-on exhibits and programs. The Museum engages the public through learning opportunities in aviation science and technology and provides a unique cultural experience that inspires aviation in people of all ages.

new logoThe Gee Bee Model A Sport Plane (pictured on our logo) was the first plane built by the Granville brothers of Madison, New Hampshire in Boston, Massachusetts. They built nine in Springfield, Massachusetts followed by a series of sportsters (monoplanes) and finally leading to the famous Gee Bee supersportster racers, one of which established a new world land-air speed record.
